Pengaruh Penambahan Serasah Daun Muntingia calabura terhadap Aktivitas Konsorsium Bakteri Kotoran Kambing dalam Bioremediasi Logam Mn pada Limbah Rumah Sakit

Abstract

Abstract
Medical liquid waste can contain metals including heavy metals that have a negative impact on health, one of which being Manganese (Mn). Heavy metal handling may utilize bioremediation using metal-reducing bacteria. This research aimed to determine the optimal level of leaf litter on the activity of the consortium of Mn metal-reducing bacteria with the addition of zeolites on a batch culture scale. The research was conducted on a batch culture scale using Postgate B medium. The research method used a completely randomized design, the treatment was adding zeolite of 20 g/L while the leaf litter levels were 0%; 0.25%; 0.5%; and 0.75%. Data analysis using Anova and Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level obtained F count > F table value of F 46.8>2.79. The results of batch culture showed that leaf litter had a significant effect on changes in pH. The addition of leaf litter increases the pH to 7. The optimal level of leaf litter in reducing Mn metal is 0.25% and the Mn reduction efficiency is 85.05%. The results of metal-reducing bacteria isolates of the genus Desulfovibrio sp. showed that the addition of Muntingia calabura leaf litter increased Mn reduction activity.

Abstrak
Limbah cair medis dapat mengandung logam berat yang berdampak negatif bagi kesehatan manusia, salah satu logam berat yaitu Mangan (Mn). Penanganan logam berat dapat menggunakan bioremediasi melalui bakteri pereduksi logam (BPL). Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kadar optimal serasah daun terhadap aktivitas konsorsium BPL Mn dengan penambahan zeolit pada skala batch culture. Penelitian dilakukan skala batch culture menggunakan medium Postgate B. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu pemberian zeolit sebesar 20 g/L sedangkan kadar serasah daun sebesar 0%; 0,25%; 0,5%; dan 0,75 %. Analisis data menggunakan Anova dan uji Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) pada taraf 5% diperoleh nilai F hitung > dari F tabel sebesar F 46,8>2,79. Hasil penelitian batch culture menunjukkan serasah daun berpengaruh nyata terhadap perubahan pH. Pemberian serasah daun meningkatkan pH menjadi 7. Kadar serasah daun optimal dalam mengurangi logam Mn sebesar 0,25% dan effisiensi reduksi Mn sebesar 85,05%. Hasil penelitian isolat BPL genus Desulfovobrio sp. menunjukkan penambahan serasah daun Muntingia calabura meningkatkan aktivitas reduksi Mn.
