The first title of the journal has been published (Edition 01 Number 001 June 2005) is BALABA: BERITA DAN MEDIA KOMUNIKASI LOKA LITBANG P2B2 BANJARNEGARA. Since Volume 9 Number 1 June 2013, it is changed to BALABA: JURNAL LITBANG PENGENDALIAN PENYAKIT BERSUMBER BINATANG BANJARNEGARA. BALABA is a journal aims to be a peer-reviewed platform and an authoritative source of information. We published research article and literature review focused on vector borne disease such as malaria, DHF, filaria, chikungunya, leptospirosis, etc. BALABA is a scientific journal, provides a forum for publishing research article or review articles. This journal published by Balai Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesehatan Banjarnegara Badan Litbangkes Kemenkes RI. It is published 2 times a year (June and December) and each edition has published 10 publication (research article and review articles) since Volume 13 Number 1 June 2017.
BALABA has been acredited by Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Republic of Indonesia (Ristekdikti) number: 158/E/KPT/2021, with Sinta Score 2 (S2). Valid until Volume 21 Number 1 2025. Journal accreditation from Kemenristek can be seen on Sinta website
