Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • I declare the submission has no potential conflict of interest.
  • I hereby stated that this manusrcipt have never been previously published in any other scientific publication and not being under reviewing process of any other scientific publication.
  • The submitted manuscript has been written using Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).
  • Title already brief and concise, written in Indonesian and English, and less than 18 words.
  • Abstract already brief and concise and not exceed 200 words in Indonesian and English.
  • Keywords are written in Indonesian and English, between three to five words/phrase.
  • The manuscript structure already consist: Introduction, Method, Result, Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendation, Acknowledgement, and References.
  • References are written according the writing style of BALABA. The primary references are no less than 80% from at least fifteen sources and had been taken from the late five year publications.
  • The instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed to the submitted manuscript.

BALABA is a journal aims to be a peer-reviewed platform and an authoritative source of information. We published research article and literature review focused on vector borne disease such as malaria, DHF, filaria, chikungunya, leptospirosis, etc.
General Instruction:
1. Published data should be obtained maximum within five years, except time series research.
2. Manuscript should be written in Indonesian or English and be submitted online via journal website. Online submission will be charged at no cost. Author must log in order to make submission.
3. Manuscript should be prepared  in A4 paper (21cm x 29.7cm) using 2 cm for top, bottom, left and right margins.
4. Title, Abstract, and Keywords should be written in Indonesian and English
- Title should be less than 18 words, centered, bold, font type Times New Roman (TNR), font size 12, and single spaced.
- Abstract contains neither pictures nor tables, justified, in 10 TNR, single spaced, and should not exceed 200 words.
- Keywords contain three to five words/phrases separated with coma and should be justified, 10 TNR and single spaced.
5. Manuscript body
The main text of the writing should be in two columns, justified, 11 TNR, first line indent 5 mm, and single spaced.
6. Figure and table should be accompanied by a title and description obvious sources. Photos selected with texture and a clear contrast (minimum 300 dpi).
7. Citation and Reference are written according to Vancouver (International Commitee of Medical Journal Editor
- Citations numbering should be numbered in 1, 2, 3, ... superscript format.
- Wikipedia, personal blog, or non scientific website is not allowed to be taken into account.
- Primary references (journal) should be at least 80%.
- References shoul be taken from the late five years.
- Please use Reference Manager Applications like EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc.

The Board is authorized to reject a manuscript based on peer reviewer advice and make a necessary changes or adjustment related with language properties without altering the substance. Substance editing would be consulted with the author first.

3. Abstract
Summarising the problem being considered, aims of the study, the salient result and the principal conclusion.
4. Introduction
Authors should state the objectives of the work at the end of introduction section. Before the objective, authors should provide an adequate background, and very short literature survey in order to record the existing solution/method, to show which is the best of previous researches, to show the main limitation of the researches, and to show the novelties of the paper.
5. Methods
Details relevant to the conduct of the study. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described. Do not repeat the details of established methods. Statistical methods should be clearly explained and its analyses must be explained on the methods used.
6. Results
Results should be clear and concise. The results should summarize (scientific) findings rather than providing data in great detail. Don’t describe the data that is already in tables or graphs.
7. Discussion
The discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them but it reveals a new understanding of the results. The results of the research were associated with references, similarities or contradictions/differences of existing data, a multi-disciplinary approach, and no speculative sentences.
8. Conclusions
Conclusions should answer the objectives of research. Do not repeat the abstract or just list experimental results. It should be written in narrative form.

Recognize those who helped in the research, especially funding supporter of your research. Include individuals who have assisted you in your study.
11. References
Please provide at least 15 references.

Subtitles in keeping with needs.

Brief summary of the content of the manuscript.
7. References
Please provide at least 25 references.
